Before the end of the golf season I was lucky to be able to play Northland in Duluth for the first time.

The Bradford side of the family made a special trip to Baltimore this month for the 20 year anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812. It was a significant battle recognized mostly by the Star Spangled Banner that was raised over Ft. McHenry signifying the the fort had not been lost. Francis Scott Key was being held on a British ship in the harbor and was so inspired he wrote the words that later became our national anthem. The commander of the fort at the time was Elizabeth's GGGG grandfather, George Armistead who has statues, portraits and monuments to him throughout the city. Here Bob, Bobby and Elizabeth are pictured by the grave of their famous ancestor. George Armistead's nephew Lewis Armistead was a general who fought for the Confederates during the civil war. They are buried together in a cemetery in Baltimore.
